Thoughts From A Saturday Night … at work

Last night my workplace hosted an event with 49 high schoolers, 20 teachers-in-training, and a few of our staff. I went in to back up the duty crew and help shuttle people from activity to activity. Just because I’m making an effort to post something more frequently, here are some of my random thoughts from the 4 hours or so I was there.

  • I’m trying to eat healthier, what do you mean you’re out of cucumbers? And, yes, I would like some o that salad.
  • What kind of people do you usually work with if you’re surprised that I a) wrote down the list of people I was moving and where they are going instead of just calling you on the radio every 2 minutes; and b) moved the cart full of pumpkin supplies back to the kitchen?
  • You need matches? Of course I have matches in my office. Yes, they are from the utility packet from an MRE I ate. Yes, There is still a full MRE in my desk drawer. We’ve met before, which part of this seems unusual to you?. 🙂
  • These pumpkins are just going to get tossed out. It really would be a shame if that happened. … What are the chances I can get away with chucking them off the side of the building? [Crap! I just realized I missed the Pumpkin Chunking festival. Crap!]

That’s all of my randomness for now.
